Litlle question

I was just wondering if any one knows the use of dampen magic and amplify magic have them in my spellbook forever but never really used them.

Depends what you are fighting and in what circumstances. Dampen is useful when fighting casters solo or in small groups where healing isn't a major concern or isn't available, Amplify is useful against non-casters where healing is a concern and is available.

Neither are probably that useful in instances as you tend to be fighting mixed groups there...

I'd not consider either vital as they are very situational.

oke was just wondering this because i'm thinking of going arcane specced read up on it and it seems to be pretty powerfull (one topic described a arcane mage out dpsing a destructo lock)

Yep, I use dampen magic occasionally on the tank when going against a caster boss - it reduces the healing they receive but also the damage taken. Amplify magic is handy on the boss fights if you have a couple of casters in your party as it increases the damage they do (also the threat they generate, so let the tank get lotsa aggro first!)

Well i'm arcane/fire now and I love it damage output is good and mana consumption hasn't been lower. I guess with good epic gear this build can do some serious damage (3 min mage)
