Totally agree, BM is the easy leveler as long as you don't mind being dependant on your pet to do a big portion of the dps.
Came to thinking when I saw Galathius post and noticed that I couldn't find a hunter specc discussion anywhere.
As I move closer towards the lvl70 marker and assuming I stay BM specced I think I'd go for something more like this.

Any thoughts from other experienced hunters? what talents do you use, and why'd you choose that specific specc?
to start things of in the BM section we could start from this specc.
One thing I feal is that getting Mortal Shots towards the end is next to a must since a +30% of your crit dmg could really help getting those filthy mobs down faster.

the 1st hunter I made was pure Beast Mastery for Pve, and as everyone says levelling up is easy as pie. 2nd time around I decided to go Marksmanship and I have to admit some decent effects from this talent, mostly useful for stunning or silencing (Improved Concussive shot, Scatter shot, Silencing shot etc I found marksmanship the most 'kite essential' spec of the 3 hunter spec, but post 55 if you've gone markmanship I found boosting a little of my pet's armour and health very helpful

When I got Thane he was marksman, I only got a few shots in before stealing aggro off my pet. When I went BM I found I used less mana and my pet did much more damage, and held aggro much better.

Marksmanship does consume a lot of mana, so if you're experienced in being a hunter you should be able to conserve what abilities you should and should not use in combat.

As for stealing aggro its not so much essential once you hit 70 and you're Instancing, and also 8/10 times you'll have growl swtiched off (unless your in a poor group and someone suggests a pet tank)

Well with Thane I dont get to get into instances much (very rarely), so I do more PVE and quests, I can POW POW for sure but I find having a mob in my face and feel like a warrior with only heroic strike.

As a BM hunter Ive found at lower levels there not much to do but arcane shot and normal attack. Although your pet should more than make up the loss of damagae. Plus your pet will be tougher and can take on the damage of 2 enemies easily, and holds aggro better than as MM so better for soloing (and ive found BM uses less mana).

For level 19 I would have my BM spec look like this.

Level 29
This is for leveling a BM hunter but at 70 things do change quite a bit.

Level 39

Level 49

Level 59
Now we start in MM tree.

Level 70
By the time you hit 70 it should look like this, as you are 70, you would want to respec as some things you do not need.

You will not get aimed shot till around 66, but you kill things fast enough anyway, on Thane he was MM when I got him and I much prefered BM.

Level 70
The points in rapid killing can be swapped around.

Recently I have changed to this spec Link which is working in my view very well for crowd control. Especially now I have 2 peices of the beast master set (which puts your trap colldown down to 20 seconds) gives you loads of time to take down other things

Been a while since I had a peek here in the forum but I thought I might be able to say something about hunter speccs as I'm starting to grow and get a bit more mature in that aspect of the game

As I get to lvl70 I plan on having something close to this as my BM specc. Some of the points can be moved around to a matter of taste ofcourse but in my opinion there are some vital talents to pic as a beastmaster, such as Frenzy (+30% attackspeed for your pet for 8secs) and Ferocious Inspiration (adds 3% dmg to all in your party for 10secs, good for the little extra when soloing but especially when grouping). Both of these only become active as your pet makes a critical hit however at least once you get past lvl60 and get a decent amount of agility on your gear you will find that these buffs are up most of the time during fights and add some really nice dps to your char

Just my pov
