5v5: The crap team
« on: September 18, 2007, 07:33:43 AM »
As the details for this team have pretty much evolved over time I thought it was a reasonable idea to stick them all down in one place.

1.  The team exists for the purpose of getting arena points to buy shiny things with.  There is no attempt at a serious class or spec composition so if you're serious about arenas this is probably not the team for you.  Subject to the 10 person limit and level 70 requirement imposed by the game anyone is welcome.

2.  The team is reformed about once a month at a cost of 200g.  Rejoining the reformed team will cost 40g (i.e. 200/5) payable to me as I pay for the charter.  Anyone joining after the initial 5 will still be expected to pay the same (otherwise it's a tad uneven) but that will go to the guild bank.  Anyone just joining to help us out if we're short of bodies will obviously not be charged, just those who plan to join in regularly in order to get points.

3.  We use an addon called Proximo for targetting and monitoring the other team, it would be useful if anyone joining had it installed.  You can download it from http://wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=4597

4.  We use teamspeak for comms.  Keyboard is just not an option, by the time you type one sentence you're probably dead and while we suck and acknowledge that we will lose the vast majority of games we do at least like to try and win.

Think that covers the basics.  No requirement to have some sort of PvP spec, no requirement to have the honor gear, no requirement to even have the trinket (although that would be insanely useful ).  It boils down to 1 hour a week and 40g a month and takes about 5 weeks to get a good set of shoulder armour (the most difficult slot to fill and therefore the most popular PvP item).

It's a fresh team this week and we have 7 games to get in tonight.

I'll pop on at some point to get things sorted... I take it if it's 40g for 5 people, it's less if we have more than 5? Don't mind sending a bit your way anyway, just need to figure out when I can fit my 3 games in

The first 4 people (apart from me) to join pay me 40g to split the cost of the initial team charter.  It's not fair to them if anyone else joining pays less but rather than work out something more complex I'm using it to raise funds for the guild bank instead.  Basically it amounts to a 40g monthly subscription of which the first 200g goes to paying the arena team costs and the rest goes to the guild bank (Quartermasta).

Migi can't make Tuesdays any more so after tonight's matches I'm going to stick up a thread to discuss next week's time/date.  So far it looks like 8 people interested so it may be we split things over 2 days or we might get them all done in one, either way a thread will go up after tonight's session for discussion (and a new thread each week after that).

So, send Quartermasta 40g on sign up regardless? Fair enough

Pretty much.  In return I will put effort into trying to organise things so everyone gets their matches every week.  Can't be asking people for gold without making some sort of effort to make sure they get their money's worth.

The idea of 40g going to guilld bank is a great! And also 40g a month for a GAURANTEED (is that spelt correct) epic is damn cheap! After getting my pc reinstalled I'll try get in the habbit of going back in arena, and I will be getting a microphone  (so you can hear me vioce that sounds like a 6 year old
