2.4 - Patch notes, no good for Druids PvP gear.
« on: February 18, 2008, 12:30:42 PM »
Found this amongst other things on http://www.mmo-champion.com/.

Quote
Druid Balance PvP Sets:  The bonus movement speed for Bear, Cat, and Travel Form has been removed and replaced with a new bonus to Wrath and Starfire.
Druid Feral PvP Sets:  The bonus movement speed for Bear, Cat, and Travel Form no longer applies to Travel Form.
Druid Restoration PvP Sets:  The bonus movement speed for Bear, Cat, and Travel Form has been removed and replaced with a new bonus to Healing Touch.

And there is also a thread that mentions Primal Nether not going to be BoP.

This isn´t as nice as Daredha´s sig, but i tried.

Hmm... I'm not a druid but I think I'd prefer a bonus to either pewpew or healing dependent on my spec over a movement speed bonus (my reading of what you posted is not that they're removing the travel form speed bonus, rather the extra bonus associated with the set bonus).

Primal Nether AND Primal Vortex will be purchaseable from the Badges Vendor, plus they won´t be BOP anymore >.<
Good for everybody, bollux for me due to the fact nobody is buying them and my crafting atm.

Already out of date on the Druid PvP set bonuses. From the US forums:

Quote
Thanks for the feedback. The Restoration 4-piece Gladiator set bonus has been changed in the next PTR build. It is now the old Stormrage set-bonus, which is -.2 seconds off Regrowth. In addition, the speed bonus to Cheetah will remain on the Feral 4-piece Gladiator set bonus.

Absolutely gutted would be the reaction, that's been the druid PvP set bonus since the release of the first PvP sets and was EXTREMELY popular.  Resto druids can't take a kicking in the same way other healers can, they don't have mail/plate/shield/bubble/pain suppression they have mobility instead.  A bonus to a spell that requires you to stand still to cast is never going to get used, a stationary druid is a dead druid.

The balance bonus is looking extremely nice though, 15% chance for wrath to reduce the cast time of your next starfire within 15 seconds to 1.5s.  It's luck based but what moonkins were desperately missing was burst damage and properly specced starfire comes with a stun chance on top.

I was under the impression that you couldn't cast your heals in forms (other than tree, but that's not bear, cat or travel form)?

We can't, but we also can't take a beating from someone in equal gear even with HoTs up.  What we can do is HoT up and run like Hell

i'd be absolutely gutted if they removed the speed buff from the gear, i know people keep complaining that druids are too fast but we need to be to survive.

Only one class is overrepresented in 2v2 arena, 3v3 arena, 5v5 arena and has been since season 1.  Also very succesful in battlegrounds and you can't do high end raiding without it.  It's not druids, it's yours.  Paladins and shamans got nerfed so Kalgan wouldn't have to nerf his beloved warrior, now it's druids getting nerfed.

Resto druids can't kill you, all they can do is survive.  You spec for killing stuff, a healer specs for staying alive.

Druids are strong in one single spec in one single arena bracket, 2v2.  We need a MASSIVE buff for 5v5 but I don't see that, all I see is nerfs to 2v2 that will spill over into other brackets and PvE.  YOUR class is one of only two in the entire game that's bothered by roots (enhancement shamans being the other).

fudge you and fudge your shitty attitude.  Just fudge off.

I'll be honest - I don't think it's a buff or a nerf, merely a rebalancing act. I know druids will (and do) disagree, but... that's just my opinion. And we all know what opinions are like.

It's a nerf, druids have the lowest survivability of any of the healing classes hence the mobility.  So far Blizzard have given tried 2 replacement set bonuses giving bonuses to spells we don't actually use in PvP, it makes you wonder if they even play the fucking game.  Lifebloom ticks are down by 8% on PTR, as lifebloom is 80% of our PvE healing that's a rather large PvE nerf as well as PvP.

You're also already the fastest moving healer class, and still will be even after this change.

Yes, Paladins have plate. They also have no range and no speed buff unless they spec heavily into Ret (which would rather break them for healing...)

Priests have (if specced properly for pvp) Pain Suppression, but it reduces their healing effectiveness. That said, I'm thinking that when Sq hits 70 she'll be getting specced full disc for PVP shenanigans.

Again, just my opinion.

Yeah, but as you say you have plate.  You stand still and get hit, we run away.  Say you have 10k armour, that's about 50% damage reduction against a level 70 opponent.  Take 15% of that away and you're looking at about 44%DR which is a 12% increase in damage taken (i.e. a massive nerf) but you'd still be the highest armoured healer.  Just because we'll still be the fastest doesn't mean it doesn't hurt badly.

Priests are real hard to kill in PvP, purge spamming shamans make them cry though.

[edit]One of our talents wasn't affecting the end bloom of lifebloom, that has now been fixed and the bloom is now larger.  As you only really let lifebloom bloom in PvP that means the net result of the healing coefficient reduction and the empowered rejuve fix means lifebloom is currently nerfed for PvE and buffed for PvP.  Nice work, fuckwits.[/edit]
