25 man runs
« on: May 02, 2008, 09:33:31 PM »
Ok, so it turns out that unless I run something I'm bored brainless and have nothing to do so I'm back to trying to get joint stuff going again with a Maggy/DLK run.  The plan is to take down Maggy (with Master Looter on this time) and if that goes well nip up to the top of the zone and have a pop at Doom Lord Kazzak.  Signups are here, let's see if we can get back on track!

Ok, looking down the list I think we have something along the lines of...

Tanks: Falkore, Amberley, Scorpious, Morahdenn, Zerl
Healers: Daffyd, Wryn, HeHeHe, Theakston, Kyon, Stupify
DPS: Jozef, Aghnim, Briony, Jenin, Sylantar, Monica, Soulitter, jackanddanny (on your mage please), Harnomy, Nimbus, Arty, Kaera, Pollock, Aryina

Zerl has forgotten his password for the planner, he said last night he wanted to come though.

Faph: I need Pollock a lot more than I need Faphnir, can you confirm you're happy to go DPS/infernal control instead of healing please?

Strategy for Maggy is here, tanks for the channellers from 1-5 in order are Falkore, Scorpious, Morahdenn, Amberley, Zerl.  Falkore will be tanking Maggy.  Amberley is designated as chief clicker and will be in charge of making sure the cubes get clicked.  Primary cube clickers from 1-5 in order are Amberley, Zerl, Briony, Aryina, & Nimbus.  Backup cube clickers in order are Morahdenn, Scorpious, Aghnim, Jozef, & Pollock.

Strategy for Doom Lord Kazzak

**If you have less than 9-10k health when raid buffed you cannot attempt this fight**

Falkore tanking, healers healing, everyone else nuke the absolute living shiz out of him.  He has a cleave so melee MUST stay behind him.  Random casters will get a debuff called Mark of Kazzak that drains their mana for 8 seconds and makes them blow up if they run out of mana, move away from the rest of the raid quickly before you explode if that looks likely (total drain is 40% of your maximum mana).  Twisted Reflection is a magical debuff that must be removed immediately, whenever he damages whoever has it he heals for a fair bit.

Absolutely critical: YOU MUST NOT DIE!  If you die he heals for about 10% of his health.  Every minute  (roughly) he goes mental and does 6 AoE shadowbolt volleys on the raid while battering the tank 30% harder which is why there is a minimum health requirement.  The entire raid will need both a healthstone and healing potions.  Do NOT use your potion cooldown for mana pots, the fight will not last long enough to need them.  Even if you go OOM due to the Mark of Kazzak then it's still far more important that you don't die.

Surviving the enrage:  Halfway through the first enrage (i.e. after you take 2-3 shadowbolts) pop your health potion.  Do the same with your healthstone on the second enrage, the third enrage should come a few seconds before your potion cooldown is up so he has to die before then.

Short version: Nuke the shiz out of him, don't die.

See you all this evening, hopefully not a day of juggling cancellations and a good raid can be had by all

So is this a flask deal or just elixirs?

Depends on your confidence and cash.  If you're broke then flask, if you're rich then elixirs.  If you go the elixirs route you must bring enough to account for the possibility of multiple wipes on DLK.

Personally I always flask for 25 mans.

Yes, I'm happy to take Pollock along.

Damn, I was so looking forward to getting that title

[Edit] Looking at the Maggy strategy, I notice you have Nimbus on cube 5 with me as his backup. This probably means Nimbus can't stray too far from the cube, and will limit which Infernals he can CC, also it could be a little awkward for me to cover the Infernals on the other side of the room and be in place to step in if Nimbus can't click cube 5.

Noooooooooo, that's harsh :/

If anyone drops out I'll do everything I can to fill the space with a lock so you can take Faph.

i don't think i have that much health even raid buffed, if you want to swap me out then do so.  (though obviously i would rather come.)

i'm only at 6763 health.

plus i tend to die alot...

If infernals are still a major issue by the time cube clicking is needed then we're in deeper trouble than that, the first cube click is 3 minutes into the fight when there should be 1-2 infernals left at most.

Maggy went down in 2 goes, lovely and smooth too.  DLK, not so much

Think next time I go try and bag him I'll take a full raid of 35-40, there's absolutely no room whatsoever for errors and you've never seen raid damage like the enrage, never!

However back to Maggy, congrats to all those who got loot especially Fenmen for the head and Harnomy for getting rich (the gem bag we reckon had about 1500g worth).  Stats are here for the Maggy fight for those who are interested.

Hope you had fun, apologies for underestimating DLK, and hopefully see you next time

Maggy & Gruul? More t4, more badges

Anyway... not too bad for bear gear (did swap my weapon this time though after my channeler went down, which no doubt helped a little). And nice damage at the top end

Am I misreading it, or did I crit Maggy for 9390?    How's that possible?

[Edit] Oh yeah, forgot about the vulnerability when the cubes are being clicked. +300% would explain that.   Damn, I thought I was so IMBA!
