Either a slip of the tongue or a deliberate leak of info (my money's on the latter) but it's happening. And I WILL be playing it. The only thing that would be even better in my eyes would be a W40K MMO...

WoW, WAR and now KotOR... Only one can get its hands on my bank details. Seriously good news. I have always wondered why the SW live action TV show wasn't set in the Old Republic, it's such an exciting story setting. Perhaps with this in the pipeline I have my answer.

i have to agree with Spud, i've never been a Star Wars fan period, although it would have to be pretty spectacular for me to jump from WoW to it.

For me I would more likely go from WoW to WAR if I played of course ^^
I find that doing an rpg would just be a to bit silly.

but popular, no doubt if there were one it would be highly popluar as the Star Wars series itself. i'd imagine that there would be a drop in wow players for a couple of months. since WoW has something of a sense of humor intergrated into the quests and the game itself, which many mmo's don't have (except for the kiddy cute graphics ones but even those fail to compete with WoW)

WAR is packed with jokes and craziness, and that's gonna be a potential WoW topper.

The big difference between KotOR MMO and Star Wars Galaxies will be the time setting. KotOR is set around 1000 years before the events of Episode I (Phantom Menace) and has a very strong Sith vs Jedi story arc. So there is already a great opportunity for 2 factions, not to mention the fact that back then much of the general public didn't trust the Jedi any more than they trusted the Sith, so a possibility of Neutral factions, such as Bounty Hunters and the like are there. Itemisation will be interesting though, since all Jedi and Sith (dark Jedi) get a lightsaber early in training - upgrading could be.. hard.

I will definitely be checking this one out, loved the original KOTOR game and the sequel was good fun up to the abysmally rushed ending.

KOTOR was awesome. SWG was not. I have high hopes that this will rank closer to KOTOR than SWG.

Well Biohazard has proven that they can launch propper games, allthough the combat system will have to be redone, but than ... /DROOOOOOOOOOOOOL gimme KotOR MMO

Man next thing would be a propper X-Wing / TIE-Fighter remake.

You don't need to have seen the last 2 movies to enjoy KotOR, though if you weren't interested in seeing the outcome of the clone wars then I doubt you'd care about the Jedi - Sith conflict a thousand years prior to this.
