Splish has made the signup process a little more complicated now. In other words, human interaction is now required to sign up. This should effectively take care of the problem.

That's actually a lie, since we don't know if the spammers will come up with a clever OCR scanner to decipher the CAPTCHA images.

So long as there is money to be made from it people will spam, all I've done is made it a little more difficult for a bot to do it. Some spammers pay people to sign up and confirm registration - so long as we only get the odd one or 2 I don't mind weeding them out, if things get lots worse I'll look into something else
