In the last 30 mins someone with a character called Amberleybank has requested an invite to the guild.  This is not me, none of my characters have that name.

Do not invite this person - I have no idea who it is and will be reporting to a GM this evening.

This is no longer a problem, even if someone did get invited they could only deposite not anything else.  The rules are set quite tight for the lower ranks.

There's no need for anyone to make bank characters these days because of the guild vaults, Bank characters were made redundant thanks to the Guild Vault. so these people who even try this scam must be pretty dumb to believe it would work. Then again, there are those who are a lil naive to say the least who it might work on. But logic and common sense would say that if someone of this name were to even ask it is definately a scammer, personally wouldn't invite them either unless Amberley herself were to say "i'm making a character called AmberleyBank, can someone please invite her" if not it would be too fishy. I hope scammers like these have a sudden impact to the harsh reality of a legal system slammed on their asses.

Alternatively you could ask them for the "usual"    50g joining fee that they (as Guild Leader) have made a guild law.

In someways it could be termed a compliment - That Seeds is being recognised as a successful Guild - you wouldn't go to that effort (Finding out guild leader's name, etc.) if you thought there would be no decent 'Plunder' at the end of it.

indeed but because we have some nice raiding friends thats allowed us to improve gear etc maybe making us look more successful.  I know splishy/fortuna has had gold spam ingame mail saying guild leader which amused me:)

and to the remark of no more use of a guildbank char  i actually know a guild that's still using one because they can't get the money togehter or something like that the guild leader always uses the items and things like that

SoG has a guild bank character so its not that far fetched however ours is named for the guild not my personal use.

i have my own bank character, it has it's own guild for the guild bank but i used to hall in a loada stuff... now i'm using it to stack up herbs for alchemy/inscriptions. And trying to get a 2nd slot on it for other things, like ore.
