pvp made a bit harder

I've been looking at the forums and apparently blizzard decided to only make one pvp set witch requires arena points, a certain standing in the arena ladder and honor to buy. So battlegrounds will become pretty useless from what I understand cause the tokens alone won't be enough any more to buy the armour. Can any one confirm this (couldn't find a blue post on it ) and any one any ideas to get casual pvp'ers to be able to purchase some items at least without resorting to hard core arena play

Nobody knows until the gear is released exactly what the design is, however from what we do know pretty much everything in your post is mistaken.

There are four sets not one, there's a crafted blue set, honour blue set, honour/arena points epic set, and pure arena points epic set.  Blue sets have no rating requirements, the pure arena points set has very high rating requirements, and it's currently unknown what (if any) the rating requirements will be for the combined honour/arena points set.

Belt/bracers/boots/rings/necklaces are available for honour/tokens and believed to have 2 levels, one requiring rating and one not.

TBC launched with no epic sets from just doing battlegrounds, Wrath is the same.
