Gettinjg back in the saddle

Ok so I just got back on WoW after quite a few months off and I obviously thing have changed somewhat. I was wondering if and high level shammys could give me a few pointers or any heads up's to help so I can dust off my shammy cobwebs.

You want what was hunter loot, mail with int/agi/ap plus the other ancillary stats.  Weapons you want slow/slow with windfury on main hand and flametongue on offhand.

imo 20% chance to do extra hit > 25% more dmg on offhand blow every 6 sec
but prove me wrong :)

You're neglecting the fact that offhand windfury procs hit half as hard as main hand yet the cooldown is shared.  The maths to prove it is horrible, however it's a fact as standing in front of a target dummy for 10 minutes will very quickly demonstrate it's superiority over WF offhand as will any time spent with EnhSim.

I can also show that Blizzard WANT you to use FT on the offhand with this recent post from GC...

Here is a mini Enhancement enchant update. I know you guys have been itching for this for awhile. It just took the designers some time to sit down and discuss the issue, and then I had to catch up with the discussion after being out.

1) The extra AP for the Windfury Weapon Glyph is not intentional and I believe has been hotfixed.

2) Our goal is WF / FT on main hand / offhand.

3) Our goal is Enhancement generally favors slow weapons for main hand / offhand.

4) To satisfy 2 & 3, we are normalizing flametongue's damage to weapon speed. If you use a fast weapon now for FT, your damage will come down. If you use a slow weapon, your damage will come up. Please keep that in mind as you continue to gear up preparing for patch 3.1.

5) Our intention with these changes is not to nerf Enhancement damage overall. However, we are concerned that Enhancement PvE damage is quite high (compared to where other classes are in the 3.1 space) so it's possible that we will end up lowering your damage slightly. But the changes outlined above are not intended to do that.

6) Overall, we are really happy with the basic attack rotation of Enhancement. Shamans are pushing the buttons we want them to push and generally doing what we expect. PvP utility is still something we are looking at however.

Nope, part of the reason for the hidden cooldown on windfury was stormstrike being changed to work with dual wield (they happened in the same patch).  The cooldown was partly to stop windfury proccing off itself and partly to make sure the new stormstrike didn't double proc windfury.  The best instant burst an enhancement shaman can get is a quadruple windfury crit (SS and WF where all 4 attacks crit) and I've managed over 10k instant damage while raid buffed but you can't double proc windfury ever.

if you go resto be prepared to heal tanks :p scared the crap out of me the first time they told me but apparently the healing shammy's are great at healing tanks these days :)
