We had our 20 week scan today, and found out that we are having a BLUE one!!!

We have decided on the name Daniel James

Although I guess Horde baby would be a bit difficult, "The scan is unclear Mrs Uf, it appears to be...an orc."

only gonna be about a months difference between our babies

We've yet to really deciede on names but liking Benjamin or Ethan at the moment.

mine are on face book. he's been nicknamed squiggly because he refuses to sit still for the scans

how awesome are scans! quite upset you only get 2... :s

Our hospital makes you pay £5 for 2 scan pics, but for the 20 week scan, we had a student sonographer (and her supervisor). We were in there AGES because baby was in an odd position and she couldn't get some of the pictures of the heart she wanted. When her supervisor took over (and got me to move about to shift baby) they got the pics they wanted.
As compensation for allowing the student to scan me, I got 5 pics for £5

newcastle is obviously cheaper ours were £3 each

got some freebies though because of squiggly doing a jig infront of the scanner when ever they tried to measure his heart. had to go back for a third scan just to check it lol

You have to pay for you're scans?

Down here the misses got 6 or 7 scans during the entire pregnancy and allf of them with pictures

Doesn't get charged either.

really? we get 2. 16 weeks and 20 weeks. we pay for the pictures but that's it. if you want extra scans i think you can have them done privately but that cost a fair amount. i really wish we had more scans. i love seeing squiggly move about. still won't be that long before he'll be out anyway now.

Ah, see here in Southampton, we have a 12 week Nuchal scan (to test for downs) and a 20 week anomoly scan.
You can get more scans, but only if there is a medical reason (my friend had regular scans because she has kidney disease)
It is completely up to the hospital how much they charge for pics (it is after all, a medical test to test for abnormalities - not a test to find out gender or for the parents to see baby)
I was lucky, in that my hospital will tell you what they think the gender is if you ask them. Some hospitals will refuse to even look in case someone sues them if they get it wrong!!!

well, I am due on July 3rd, so about 8 weeks to go.

I am convinced he is going to be a June Bug though!!
