Application - Lancar LvL 80 Paladin
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:58:20 AM »
...'Swinging' the light fantastic...
Yes... This is another Paladin... no stop! Don't click 'back'. You never know you might like this one... Go on give it a read, you know you want to.

Real name :
Jamie

Age :
25

Character's name/class/race/lvl :
Lancar / Paladin / Human / 80 [Main]
Valeran / Mage / Human / 80 [Alt]
Vidler / Warlock / Human (seeing a theme?) / 73 [First Character but got terribly bored of it]

What do you expect from SoG :
I've been around since vanilla and have always missed out on that deep guild relationship thing that a lot of people have. So really I'm just after friendly easy going people that I can enjoy spending my game time with.

Your professions and skillpoints (link to build if at all possible) :
Lancar - Blacksmith & Miner
Valeran - Alchemist & Herbalist
Vidler - Engineer & Tailor

Your talent points :
Paladin: Holy (Pri) & Ret http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Arathor&cn=Lancar
Mage: Arcane (Pri) & Frost (PvP) http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Arathor&cn=Valeran

How did you hear from us ?
Saw your advert on Arathor.net whilst I was looking around for a new guild but then went on a MC run with Mechanical a few days after and decided that your guild would make a good home. Gave it a few weeks to make sure and am now sending my application (obviously cause your reading it).

What is your recent guild history and if leaving a guild the reason for the move?
I am currently in Knights of Ni, were an awesome guild and was with them for ages until I took a couple of months out of game to organise some RL stuff, came back and the guild had collapsed with the majority of my friends had left or moved to other servers. It is still going now but is in a bit of a mess. My main motivation to move is I want a sound and stable home before cata drops as it will make the experience so much better with a good guild.

what can you offer the guild, and why should we admit you?
As I said above I've been playing since Vanilla so I know the game well and have spent a lot of time learning my character (and apparently will have to again when the next patch drops). I am an experienced raider and would bring some good healing to any raid runs as well as ensuring I take the time to research tactics prior to raids. I love doing some of the old stuff and am always eager to help out with Achievement runs etc. I'm quite obsessed with the lore of wow, I think it makes for fantastic reading and I do try to get my hands on as much of it as possible.

Other than that I suppose all I can say is that I'm a decent guy, I work full time as a Facilities Manager in RL so have a fairly sound head with heaps of common sense - I'm not obsessed with WoW I just can't stop playing. I have an odd sense of humour so I warn you now haha...

-------------------------------official note-------------
Hi Lancar!

Thank you for your application.  Please spend a little time having a look at the forum and check out the guild rules here http://www.seedsofglory.net/smf/index.php?topic=2160.msg20347#msg20347.

We also have a compulsory 2 week trial period to give you chance to get to know us and vice versa.  We schedule raids via the Raid Planner attached to this form so if you have trouble setting that up please post on the forum and I will bump the instructions thread floating around on here.  The trial period doesn't have restrictions attached, you're welcome to sign up to anything on the planner and please feel free to offer/instigate heroic groups through guild chat, although a number of members tend to PUG those.

We do have a guild vault and I'm sure somewhere in the I Need section of the forum there are rules about that (if not let me know and I'll make some up)  There isn't a need or requirement to contribute to the vault unless you have a need to take a number of items out of it.  If you start to raid regularly then you may need to start adding what you can if you use the flasks etc.

We try to be a friendly helpful guild with a welcoming atmosphere so if you wish to join us please whisper a member in game for an invite.
-------------------------end of official note------------------

So, like i said Jamie, welcome!
We are indeed a stable guild with lots of friendly faces, and don't worry you are not the only one with odd sense for humour ;)
I'm sure you will enjoy the Seeds!

We have historically been overwhelmed with a number of classes, Paladins being one of them (though that was back in vanilla). Faphnir was just jealous because he has to wear a dress on his healer ;)

Yeah, that's just not fair  :-\  Just remember Big Blue Dress

I made the comment because when I looked at the guild members online, it was a Rogue (me) and FIVE Paladins  :o

I believe Robes of the Exalted was your blue dress, an unavoidable choice for non-raiders as it was just that good.
