Depends largely on how different the motherboard is. Same chipset? Will likely just work, might require reactivation. Different chipset? Might do, likely to have a few issues which will require driver reinstallation and the rest. Will definitely need reactivating if that's the case.

\o/

Just remember if it shuts down mysteriously don't panic, just make sure you seated the fan properly and didn't use too much paste. Had my own fan come loose once or twice, never caused any damage as the CPU just panics and shuts down to protect itself.

Meh, good news and bad news. Bad news is that, after recieving the package today, I found out that the shop by accident included a Scythe Mugen 2 rev. B instead of a 3, which, sadly does not fit in my casing. The shop is sending me he correct one which will ofc. take at least one day. The good news is that the package did include the thermal grease and cleaning set i had ordered so I could at least remount my stock cooler and I can at least participate in the raid tonight.

That and my Tablet scared the hell out of me by playing dead, thankfully the asus customer service line helped me revive it.

Aaand my pc is alive and fully functional \o/ The mugen 3 was delivered saturday, but when I attempted to install it I cam to the conclusion that my calculations failed and my casing was too small. So today I bought a Cooler Master HAF 912 to replace my old Artic Cooling Silentium T1 and got to work on installing stuff. The CPU cooler was kinda easy, alot easier then the cabelmanagement in the 912 which gave the some headdaches and cuts on my hands.

New (left) and Old (right) case next to each other. Don't mind the stuff on the desk, most of it is stuff used to replace the CPU and a bowl with screws in it.

Cable management, believe me when I tell you that all the cables on the right are at the back of the case, the area in front is clear and i removed the extra 3.5" mounts to get more air uncomprimised from the front fan to my videocard, which results on more cables visual.
