OK, it's intresting to see responses that lift some other issue about this game...
I want to clarify some things about my decision, because i see that some people misunderstood what i meant in regards of the possible break i would give myself...
First of all i still don't know if i will quit for a while or not... like said before, it's something i'm thinking about, but certainly didn't make up my mind about it
However i do enjoy the 'normal' runs, especially because we play good together. However in my honoust opinion Blizzard made all classes so powerfull that when anyone (even pug) go to scholo/DiM or any 5-10 man instances, they can treat it like epic geared people rushed to those before the patch (and believe me, i had some really neat experience with my 'retired' main and alts who were BWL/AQ40 equiped in there)
In the long run this will make more people believe they are good, while they aren't. Previously you had to be carefull as a blue geared character in those instances and fault tolelerance was minimal because one mistake could provoce a wipe in any of them. Only the characters that know their class and know how to work together could survive 'additional adds' or a mistake to be rectified and survive a otherwise terrible wipe
However i think it's good that the circumstances what became a sum of several things, made guilds as a whole get more 'problems'. The new honor system that encourages the pvp madness among everyone(me included), the holiday seasons that have priority above any game to spend with family and children, the boredom of no new PVE content (at least not accessible for the casual guilds... Naxxramas as main example)... all contribute in getting a downgrade in attendances of guild runs that were not so long ago at a peak.
But once again, it's not because i 'cant be arsed' to help other guildies out that never been into the normal instances, in contrary, i enjoy to be of some help to at least try to guide groups through those instances because (said it before) i still enjoy them very much.
I really wonder if TBC gets out, if the 'problem' of lvl boosting will just shuffle to a hogher department. In example now you see the yells and chats 'looking for bored lvl 60's to go to DM'.... in TBC perhaps 'looking for bored lvl 70 to go to scholo'.... ?
so to get back to this thread's primary meaning... the break i would take is for my own personal reasons, it has nothing to do whith becomming bored and nothing to do anymore.... hell, Lioness has lots of stuff still todo as going to brd to complete key quests for accessing other content and repping factions to get recipe access for her enchanting etc...
It's the game mechanics as a whole that are for me screwing it up and letting players get access to content that they cant master in a good way because overpowering the classes that is my primary concern and let me started to think about stepping a bit back and let things as they are and see where this is all going.
I'm sorry to give you so much to read, at the end... it's 'just' a game they all claim. However i'm not this hypocrit and i know this game is more than 'just' a game for me, especially if i see how many months of played time i spend already
'Just' a game wouldn't bother me so much to give it so much thought, so that's why i probably will not quit... but this is the thing i just have to figure out for myself at the moment AND the true nature of this thread.
I know some things probably will not make much sense what i wrote, but on the other hand it's good that i can write it off in this forum... that's why it's for
thanks for all responses and i'm happy that it let some other 'problems' and thoughts see surface and discussed.
you all have a place in my mind and heart and this is something i really am greatfull about this game.... though we never saw eachother in real life, still i got the feeling i made many friends throughout this game.
Love,
Lioness/lifestealer
PS : you didn't hijack this thread at all Amber
