Firstly i would have to agree that a merger is a bad idea as we will have too big an influx at once and the original 'sides' would cause tension for a while in group selection etc.
I personally like the atmosphere we have in the guild at the minute, everyone looks out for each other and if we can keep that as we grow we will be an even fantastic guild, but to do that we need to grow slowly. If you think about it when the guild started there were no near 60's in here but most actually got there with the guild's help and everyone has seen and shared their journey. There are many more on there way to this goal which will get easier and easier the more high levels we have to help them in the final stages. We need to encourage this attitude throughout all the levels, use the forum more to organise runs and to share tips especially at these lower levels.
With regard to future recruitment the next patch will make thing easier as there will be a dedicated guild recruitment channel, again as Buadhachan said previously don't just invite people, if i've seen someone looking for a guild i'll whisper them to find out what they want from a guild and tell them a bit about us before even asking if they are interested in joining. Plus think about what we need as a team (We desperately need Warlocks and dedicated healers.) and how we work as a team, can this person bring that to the guild?
Another option is to raise the profile of the guild, we need to be seen by the rest of Arathor to be active, try and work together in groups, you may need to invite a few other people but let them see people working together well with Seeds of Glory written above their heads! We do this and people will want to join.
Battlegrounds are a good one for this, a lot of us don't like the battlegrounds, as you end up in a dis-organised mess with no structure, if we can join as a party and the Seeds of Glory part of the team works as an effective unit on the field our profile will be boosted again. Plus it will be more enjoyable than as perhaps the horde won't win for once as the alliance scatter randomly across the battleground
Most of all it's a matter of time, think how the guild has grown and improved just over the past few months, a few weeks ago we wouldn't even have been considering doing a raid Arathor is one of the more established realms so it will take a while to get noticed and grow, but if we are are patient i believe we can make it sooner than we think, we just need to learn to walk before we can run.
Anyway those are my thoughts, but i'll happily support any decisions that are made.
By the way mine's a Duck Billed Platypus!
