We have upcoming development plans which we wanted to share now, as it could impact choices that Druids might make in the immediate future regarding flying mount riding skills or purchasing epic mounts:
 
The regular Storm Crow form remains trainable at level 68 and moves at 60%. Also as previous, the normal flying mount skill comes with the form.
 
An epic quest line will be going into an upcoming patch which will grant Druids an additional flying form with increased stats. The epic flying form will move at the epic rate of 280%, but basically fall under the same conditions as the previous flight form (i.e. can't run on the ground).
 
However, the first prerequisite of the quest will require the epic flying mount riding skill, so it would not be a loss to Druids if they wish to purchase their epic flying mount skill now or in the near future. Obviously, one could then diversify their epic mounts beyond the Druid's casted epic form if they choose.

Nice one. Hope the quest chain isn't as much of a pain as the Paladin epic was, as that took me bloody forever (and cost around the same as an epic mount before rep discounts)

We haven't had a class quest chain since bear form so most of us are wanting it to be a big long chain

My guess is the chain will still cost as we save around 1000-1500g by not having to buy either mount or 225 riding.

Fair point. I think it's a shame that the Epic mounts don't all involve a chain of some sort - I had a real sense of achievement when I got Splishy's epic mount that I just didn't feel with Fortuna. If they're to be truly epic it should be a real pain in the arse to get them in my book, not just a case of handing over a bajillion gold.

I'm sure lots of people would disagree, but YOU'RE ALL WRONG.

I agree, the epic mounts should be quest rewards for all classes or perhaps for each race.

Speak for yourself Splish, getting the epic mount for me was a real pain in the ass and I did feel and immense sense of satisfaction when I finally scraped together enough cash for it! I do agree that a quest would have been more fun though!

Yeah I know you struggled to pull the cash together. Maybe it's just that first epic mount then? As I say just going to a vendor and handing over the cash felt a bit like cheating with Fortuna, it was just too easy.

actually there is speculation that there will be a paladin epic flying mount coming soon.  Its been chucked between the forums and the developers a few times, but the idea so far is to carry on the whole mount quest chain theme with the end result of getting a pegasus - basically the current charger with wings.  I've also heard similar with warlocks too, although I do not know what the creature will be for them.

Spooky - I was saying to Petitmiel that something like that would be cool only yesterday. I do seem to recall that Blizzard had previously said that the epic flying mount would involve a quest chain for all classes though.

Today we got some feedback from the developers on the flying mount  idea for Paladins and Warlocks: The idea is interesting indeed, but  unfortunately there are no plans for giving class specific flying  mounts for Paladins and Warlocks at this time. Currently it is only the  Druids who are getting special flying abilities with their flight form.  
 
This means that Paladins and Warlocks will have to get their flying mounts exactly the same way as the other classes.  
 
I know that this was not the feedback you guys wanted to hear, but  who knows… Maybe there will be plans for Paladin and Warlock specific  flying mounts some glorious day in the future :-)
Looks like not just yet.  Presumably there will be epic quest lines for other classes but it appears not mounts.

oooo that'll get the paladins crying on the forums lol.  Ah well, i guess it would be a bit far fetched for a paladin to get some glorious pegasus whilst other classes will mostly ride an armour plated gryphon.

Nah, I'm in favour of it.

Pegasus for paladins.
Unicorn for mages.
Undead pegasus for warlocks.
Light form for priests (opposite of shadow form.  No spell casting (i.e. same restrictions as a mount) but glowing white with big angel wings).
Some WoW equivalent of Thor's Hammer for warriors.
Not sure about the rest.
